[ There's a whole... subrace of them, for the lack of a better term? Then again, dog whisperers are a thing, plants can apparently communicate with each other and they grow better if you sing to them, so... ]

What do they talk to you about? Do they have existential crises too?

Mostly their circumstances, though existential crises are a lot rarer, I can say that. Machines are usually made for a purpose, a lot moreso than humans.

But the smarter it is, the more likely it has questions about the world, or picks up on circumstances like being left in junkyards.

[Which could just make you feel sad for the machine or tool, really.]

So loneliness is universal. As is fear of abandonment?

What do you think about this place then? Is it sentient?

Might be more philosophical than the average car would put it, but yeah.

And, maybe? It could be aware in and of itself, or constructed &powered by some other will. Or a combination.

I'd have an easier time communicating with the wildlife than the infrastructure, though I wouldn't be surprised if those also withheld information on purpose.
