We're not omniscient, don't get THAT idea. :V And abusing the loopholes or gray areas of wizardry too much means you get it revoked. Context counts for a lot, with what we do. How you argue for doing or having done something can make the difference between abuse of power and a necessary exercise of it.

Having power doesn't actually make us beyond judgement. :V You have limits on who you'd sell to, don't you? You just don't tell everyone what they are.

If by 'council' you mean Senior and Advisory wizards in all different regions of Earth and beyond... kind of? We definitely have a support network going.

That kind of attitude is incompatible enough with wizardry and how it works, that the people who start thinking that way tend to lose the Art the fastest.

The first. And wizardry doesn't - can't - live in the unwilling heart, so if they start feeling that being a wizard goes against their chosen philosophy, they can lose the power that way, too.

And having wizardry revoked means, at best, that you remember it as 'a cool fantasy game'. Worst case, you don't remember any part of your life that was directly connected to being a wizard.

Failsafe's closest, yeah. It has to be really clear cut that you screwed someone else over - and on purpose - for it to not at least involve giving the wizard in question a heads-up, though. And some chance to explain themselves.

For beings who exist outside of time - surprisingly, no. Also means they trust us as the experts to know what living HERE is like.

Don't get me wrong, beings who exist out of Time can cause us their own headaches, but the only one of Them who really thinks humans and the like are lesser is the one who wants us all dead. Wizards in particular, Life in general. Thinks spirit is superior to matter, too.
